What's New in Taskly 1.2.1
Taskly 1.2.1 is now available on the App Store. The headline of this release is Streaks, a new way to turn staying on top of your tasks into a habit. This update also includes a handful of fixes and refinements that make the app smoother and more reliable.
Streaks: Build a Habit, One Week at a Time
Streaks reward you for keeping up with your tasks. For every 7 days in a row that you stay on track, you earn a 7-day streak. Your total number of streaks keeps climbing over time, and it never resets. Someone with ten streaks banked has a number they can be proud of, and it only ever goes up.
The idea is simple, but the details are designed to feel fair:
- A day counts as on track as long as you don't let a task go overdue. Days with nothing due still count, so a quiet day never breaks your streak.
- An overdue task pauses your progress. While something is sitting past its due date, your current week is frozen. Clear it, and you start moving again.
- A miss only resets the current week. If you let a task slip, your in-progress 7 days go back to zero, but every streak you have already earned stays banked. You can never lose your total.
You can find your streak on the Profile tab. A card shows your total along with your progress toward the next one. Tap it to open Your Streaks, where you can see every 7-day streak you have earned and read a short explanation of how it all works.
Streaks are about your day-to-day tasks, so long-interval maintenance items are left out of the calculation. A yearly filter change sitting in the red won't affect your streak.
Fixes and Refinements
- Recurring tasks no longer send a duplicate assignment alert each time they repeat. You are notified once, when the task is first assigned.
- Tasks that require a photo now show a small camera icon in your list, so you can spot the requirement before you open them.
- After a completion photo passes its quick check, a confirmation now appears so you know it went through.
- A number of reliability improvements under the hood, including smoother task deletion and notification handling.
